This RPG Maker VX game starts with (a large screen resolution) a scientist giving a press conference, and then a bunch of scientists working and the president being concerned at what might happen. Countless years later, I’m on a spaceship where I control Edward and Johnny. This ship raided an illegal mine, it’s flying back to its planet Gaea, however there are soldiers from the mine raiding the cargo bay for the mineral Terium. We run into some soldiers who we fight. The ABS battle system seems interesting, due to it’s futuristic twist. Your health restores at the end of each battle which allows for each battle to be challenging. The game has a real unique feel to it, if anything, it reminds me of Final Fantasy VII, and that’s not a bad thing at all. There also seems to be a lot of lore built up, so there’s that somewhat overwhelming feel of what might be in store for the characters involved. It’s hard to comment on the mapping, but it seems functional and fine, there’s nothing that will blow you away here though.

“The menus are well-designed and fit in well with the overall style of the game.”
We reach the cargo bay, where we hear the sound of some kind of robotic weapon. There is a bit of lag at around this point. The boss is tough to damage however. Nad, a girl with a with an missile launcher, was sent to the Cargo Bay to help us. She joins the battle and we take down the machine. There needs to be a lot more after battle phrases. The dialogue is well-written and the characters seem interesting. The demo was quite short overall, it took less than half an hour to get through. I’ll be interested in playing this and re-reviewing it when the full game is released. For now it’s a solid effort. ***
